Compliance Firm MSR Assessment Private Limited Grows 20-Strong Team After Processing 100+ Certifications in a Single Quarter

MD Moshin’s startup journey transforms from a 2-person operation to a pan-India business compliance provider

West Bengal, [India], August 19, 2025: MD Moshin was running a small compliance consultancy from Kolkata in 2021 when he noticed something frustrating: small businesses were paying the same prices for ISO certifications as large corporations, often waiting months for basic licenses.

His solution was MSR Assessment, initially registered as a proprietorship with just two employees. The idea was straightforward – offer transparent pricing and faster turnaround times for businesses that couldn’t afford big consultancy fees.

The approach worked, but slowly. For the first year, Moshin handled most client calls personally while building relationships with certification bodies and government offices. By 2022, demand had grown enough to register as a private limited company.

Digital Tools Drive Rapid Client Growth

The real breakthrough came in early 2023 when MSR Assessment processed over 100 business certifications and licenses in a single quarter. The milestone caught Moshin by surprise, forcing him to hire additional staff and streamline operations.

“We suddenly had startups calling from Bangalore, manufacturers from Gujarat, even international companies setting up Indian operations,” Moshin recalls. “Our phone system couldn’t handle the volume.”

The solution involved moving client communication to WhatsApp and introducing online document tracking. Clients could upload papers, track application status, and get updates without calling the office. The digital shift helped MSR handle more cases without proportionally increasing staff.

Serving Businesses Beyond Bengal

What started as a local Kolkata operation now serves clients across India and internationally. MSR’s client base includes startups needing FSSAI licenses, manufacturing companies pursuing ISO certifications, and foreign businesses requiring Indian compliance documentation.

The company assigns dedicated relationship managers to each client, avoiding the common complaint about getting transferred between different staff members during long certification processes.

Moshin maintains competitive pricing by keeping overhead low and focusing on efficiency rather than expanding office space. The team of over 20 professionals works primarily through digital tools, reducing operational costs that get passed to clients.

Recent expansion includes trade license assistance, GST registration support, and specialized certification for food and manufacturing sectors. MSR Assessment has built repeat business through referrals, with existing clients recommending services to business partners and competitors.

The company plans to add more specialized certifications while maintaining its focus on transparent pricing and quick processing times for smaller businesses that larger consultancies often overlook.
