flybig commences Indore-Gondia-Hyderabad flight

Hyderabad, March 14, 2022: flybig, India’s newest scheduled commuter airline, launched its latest Air Connectivity Routes. It commenced Indore-Gondia-Hyderabad flight

It was flagged off virtually today by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was the Chief Guest for this momentous flight inaugural.

The launch at Indore commenced with the water canon salute to the incoming flight, Water canon salute was also given at Gondia. 

The flight has reached Hyderabad. The flight from Hyderabad will take off tomorrow

In Indore, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan; flybig CMD Sanjay Mandavia and several dignitaries representing the Government and the Aviation Industry were present.  

Speaking virtually on the occasion, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed his delight that clean city Indore is progressing and that air traffic movement in the city has increased by 50%. He also congratulated flybig on fulfilling Hon’ble PM Modiji’s vision of UDAN in connecting India’s hinterland and small cities, and he stated that the aviation industry plays an important role in the nation’s economic development.

He further stated that air routes connecting small towns will attract investments and promote religious tourism in Madhya Pradesh.

On the occasion of the launch and flag-off, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, congratulated flybig.  

flybig CMD Sanjay Mandavia thanked Hon’ble Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Further, he stated that the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s UDAN Scheme has the potential to bring prosperity and development to our country, as well as connect our country’s inaccessible geographies.

flybig is a scheduled commuter airline operating under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS). The Airline has announced plans to rapidly increase its national footprint and operational network, by adding 3 more cities viz. Indore, Gondia and Hyderabad, taking the total number of operational cities in its network from 8 to 11. flybig launched its services in the North East in the second week of May 2021. 

UDAN is a regional aviation connectivity scheme envisioned and implemented by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. The Government of India has sought to enact a policy vision that provides the citizens of tier II and tier III cities with the opportunity and options to travel by affordability and economy of time between regional hubs, state capitals and remote locations that are yet to be connected with Rail Heads. flybig leads the way to complement, support and activate the Government’s plan to provide passenger and logistic connectivity to add socio-economic value to passengers and businesses leading to economic transformation and logistics up-gradation.

flybig began its commercial operations on January 3, 2021.

flybig is promoted by Gurugram based Big Charter Private Limited, led by Capt. Sanjay Mandavia is the airline’s Chairman and Managing Director. The airline is focused on connecting tier-2 and tier 3 cities within India. 

flybig is an important partner to the Government of India in its initiative and scheme to promote air travel through UDAN. The scheduled commuter airline has planned to induct five aircraft by the end of March 2022, offering more than 75,000 seats at peak capacity across 15 approved routes.
