vivo to provide smartphones worth INR 10 lakhs along with a cash award of 1.5 lakhs to support the education of 100 students

Aims to support the education of children coming from financially weaker backgrounds as part of ‘vivo For Education’ program

January 14, 2022: vivo, the leading global smartphone brand, in collaboration with Protean (formerly known as NSDL), announced a fresh phase of the ‘vivo For Education’ program today. As part of this phase, vivo will provide 100 vivo smartphones worth INR 10 lakhs and a cash scholarship worth INR 1.5 lakhs to support education of 100 underprivileged kids.

Aligned with Government of India’s objective to support education, the program aims to bridge the social and fiscal divide and support students from low-income families to continue their education. The activity will equip children with a smartphone that can help them achieve an enriching learning experience even through online distance learning amid challenging times.

On the occasion, Yogendra Sriramula, Director, Brand Strategy, vivo India said, “In this time of distance learning, smartphones are a lifeline to students. Under this leg of the initiative, students who are studying in class 11 presently will be provided with a vivo smartphone and a cash scholarship.

Earlier, vivo supported the education of 100 underprivileged students by providing vivo smartphones for their online education. Additionally, the brand also provided cash scholarship worth INR 8L to over 65 students as part of ‘vivo For Education’ initiative.
