Kolkata Photographer Monojit Dutta Wins Grand Prize at Samsung’s India #withGalaxy Photography Contest
Kolkata-based photographer Monojit Dutta, widely known as “Kolkatar Chobiwala”, has been announced as a Grand Winner of Samsung’s prestigious India #withGalaxy Photography Contest, one of the largest photography competitions in the country.

The contest attracted more than 30,000 entries from across 30 states of India, with only 36 winners being selected. The competition was judged by acclaimed filmmaker Kabir Khan, whose celebrated works have made him one of India’s most respected storytellers.
Monojit’s winning photograph impressed the jury with its powerful visual storytelling, striking use of color, and unique composition. As a Grand Winner, he received a cash prize of ₹1.5 lakh, marking another significant milestone in his photography journey.
A passionate photographer and visual storyteller, Monojit began his journey with mobile photography before establishing himself as a professional photographer. Over the years, his work has gained recognition from photography communities, educational institutions, and organizations across India and abroad.
His photographs have been featured by leading publications and media platforms, while his work has also appeared on more than 50,000 websites worldwide. Through his lens, Monojit has documented the streets, culture, traditions, and everyday life of India, creating images that resonate with audiences globally.
His achievements have been recognized by more than 150 universities, colleges, and organizations, including prestigious institutions such as IIT Kharagpur, IIT Dhanbad, IIT Guwahati, IIT Jammu, IIT Delhi, and IIT BHU, where his work has received awards and accolades in various photography competitions.
